Hey everyone,
This week’s video touches on a current issue: the erasure of Welsh place names. Welsh media has been abuzz with stories about the newly-named property, Hakuna Matata in Carmarthenshire. This video talks about the importance of Welsh place names and focusses on a property that some of my ancestors lived at in the early 1800s that has since lost its name. Finally, I talk about what we can learn from Welsh history and how the disappearance of place names today is part of a centuries-long process.

Also, thanks to everyone who watched last week’s video. I hope you enjoyed it—it was an experiment and turns out it wasn’t that popular. That’s okay though, trying out new things is important.
Take care and have a great week!
